We started out April by me playing a little April Fool's Day joke on Nate and Noah. I replaced their juice at breakfast with jell-o, they both thought it was a good trick (in fact Nate tried to take sip from the same glass a 2nd time). Noah spent the rest of the day trying to trick me. The next day, my dad came to visit us, which was a lot of fun. He was able to see all of the attractions of our home town in about 10 minutes. He was eager to see the train station since he had heard about our train adventure in October... he was surprised, to say the least, by it's lack of, well, a station. He also got to visit Nate's work and see where he does all his creating. He spoiled the kids a little with ice cream after t-ball practice and McDonald's and Denny's for their lunches (which means I got spoiled too), popsicles after a long drive, and lots of fun things from Target. It was really great to have him here and the kids and I are excited to have him come back again. We celebrated Porter's 2nd birthday this month too. Grandma P. came down to party with us at the home of our good friends Jay and Maranda and their crew (we figured it'd be easier to get our family packed up and over there than it would be for them to bring their family to us). It was a lot of fun. We then headed back to our house so Porter could open his birthday cards and presents- he liked this part. Noah also started t-ball in April. Here are a few pictures.
Porter wearing his Happy Meal Box as a hat.
Pictures from Porter's birthday, he's wearing the shirt I made when Noah turned 2.
Pictures from one of Noah's t-ball games. He did well and had a lot of fun. After his first time at bat he hit the ball and then promptly ran back to the dugout, oops! He's getting the hang of all the rules now.
You can see the rug burn on his nose here. He was so happy when it healed because he was tired of explaining how he got a rug burn on his nose in the first place.
Safe at 1st base!
Thumbs up after running to home plate.
We also started potty training Porter in April (no pictures of that!). He has been doing very well with it.
