We couldn't leave Benson without visiting our good friends next door, Ed and Bernice, and their daughter, Nancy. They have certainly been more than just good friends, they are our Benson family and we miss them dearly. Ed and Bernice gave the kids these fun Christmas hats, which they wore almost daily for the month of December.
After leaving Benson, we spent time with friends and family. Here we are one day in Grandpa's backyard. Noah was working hard raking all the leaves into a big pile, then we all played in them (the we raked them again).
Holland and Grandpa on the hamock.
This was taken on Christmas Eve. The kids looked so cute, ready to celebrate Christmas and getting excited for Santa to come.
The one thing (on a very long list) Porter wanted most for Christmas was the game, Pie Face. We could not find it anywhere. Well, leave it to Aunt Mary to find it and get Porter just what he wanted. He was so excited to get it and as soon as he opened it, we played it at Aunt Mary's house. Here's Porter after he got pie faced on Christmas morning.
The Monday after Christmas, we left my parents' home to head up to our new house. We made pretty good time on our trip- we left early in the morning and arrived while there was still some daylight, in time for dinner. Thanks to the DVD player my parents gave us for the car and some fun activity bags I made for the kids ahead of time, we all had a nice trip. Here are the kids wearing their mustaches from one of the mystery bags.
As soon as we saw this sign we knew we needed a picture in front of it.
Here we are at our new house! We arrived and were so relieved to finally be there and all be together, just the five of us. We so enjoyed our time celebrating Christmas and visiting with family before moving, but it sure was (and is) nice to be with just our family again. This was the first time the kids had seen our house, other than in pictures, so it was especially exciting for them. They were also excited to have snow on the ground and promptly went to play in it. When we finally got everyone inside, we unpacked, explored the house, and had dinner. Our first meal in our new home was from Panda Express.
