October was jam-packed with awesomeness. Nate had to take a work trip to California and, since Noah was on fall break at the same time, we joined him. The boys and I stayed with Nate's Aunt Diane for the first few days while Nate worked, then we all got together for a family vacation.
We surprised the kids our first day of vacation by taking them to Lego Land. It was so fun watching them as they realized where we were going.
We had a blast at Lego Land. One of the coolest things is just all the amazing structures they have that are built from Legos. I love Noah's "scared" face for this spider.
There are a lot of fun rides at Lego Land. Here are Nate and the boys getting ready to ride.
Noah's reaction to this ride was both funny and sad, especially compared to Porter's complete delight. Noah is not a fan of roller coasters, but he was a trooper and had some fun riding various other rides and then hanging out with Holland and I while Nate and Porter rode the other rides. I did get Noah on one roller coaster our 2nd day at the park & he said he had fun.
Don't worry, I got to ride some rides with the boys too.
More Lego sculptures.
Getting cozy with Darth.
My boys are so cute!
We also spent a day at the beach, a whole day. This was Porter and Holland's first time seeing the ocean. It was fun to watch the boys play in the sand and water. The beach we went to had a playground on it so, when the kids got tired of the water, they could swing or go down the slides. It was a perfect day.
Noah loved running from the waves.
Holland was simply a joy the entire trip. Isn't she beautiful?
Just one look at Noah and you know he had a blast!
We got home just in time to celebrate Nate's birthday. His mom was kind enough to drive down to party with us.
Then of course there's Halloween. It's kind of a big deal around our house. I was a lazy mom (it's funny because there's no such thing). Nate was a weekend news anchor (he's wearing board shorts and sandals with his sport coat). Holland was a mummy. Porter was a ghost. Noah was Dracula.
We had a really great time enjoying new experiences with the kids on our trip and celebrating Noah's favorite holiday, Halloween. We have a lot of fun as a family. Now we enter my favorite time of year where it's all about being with family and showing gratitude and love. I am certainly grateful for my husband and our 3 amazing kids.
