Calico Ghost Town

Nate has been taking quite a few trips for work recently and we've missed him a lot at home. Last weekend, however, we were able to join him on a trip to California to watch a race. We had a really fun time watching the race, I'll try and get pictures up of that later, and Noah enjoyed playing with Nate's boss' children too. It was a pretty quick trip, we left Thursday night and returned home 1 a.m. Sunday morning, just 12 hours before we had to be at church for Noah to give his talk (see post below). With all of that driving and the race crammed into one weekend you'd think we wouldn't have time for much else, but we were able to squeeze in a trip to Calico Ghost Town for their annual Ghost Haunt event. Calico is a neat little park near a Silver mine. We got to see a "gunfight" and some pretty neat buildings as well as walk around the shops and mountains surrounding the town. Noah got to color a trick or treat bag and after dark he went around to all the shops to trick or treat (those were his favorite parts). We didn't find out until we got home and told Nate's mom about our trip that she and Ralph had actually visited Calico Ghost Town on their honeymoon so it made our efforts to get out there that much more worthwhile. We had fun dressing up in our costumes a little early for Halloween and were really happy to be able to spend time together as a family.

Here we all are. Guess who's idea it was for everyone to dress up as characters from Spider Man. Noah, of course, is Spider Man, Nate is Sand Man, I'm Black Cat, and Porter is the radioactive spider that bit Peter Parker.
The picture below shows a better view of Porter's costume. My amazing sister made it!

I love the blue of Porter's eyes in this picture, it just pops out, he's such a cutie.
Below, Noah is enjoying some Trick or Treating. He was really good at remembering to say "trick or treat" and "thank you" to each person who gave him candy.
